IT System Administrator (m/f/d) with a focus on Storage & Backup.

Application
We are looking for a dedicated and success-oriented IT System Administrator (m/f/d) with a focus on Storage and Backup for a split workload of 40 hours per week, with 32 hours in internal system administration and 8 hours in project work in the Storage & Backup environment.

Your tasks

  • Installation, configuration, and administration of server and client systems with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
  • Installation and configuration of storage and data backup systems.
  • Installation, configuration, and administration of network components.
  • Installation, configuration, and administration of WLAN infrastructures.
  • Installation, configuration, and administration of IP-based telephone systems.
  • End user support (on-site, remote, and phone) for software and hardware issues and disruptions.
  • Analysis of hardware and software requirements and procurement.
  • Customization of systems and software, consulting on the selection and procurement of operating software.
  • Ensuring the security of company information through the implementation of security measures such as access controls and firewalls.
  • Creation and maintenance of infrastructure documentation.
  • Collaboration with third parties.
Moreover, you support our customers/partners in team projects with the following tasks:
  • Configuration and administration of SAN + NAS storage systems
  • Configuration and management of backup environments
  • Technical administration of backup solutions (preferably experience with IBM Spectrum Protect, Commvault, Veeam, and/or Rubrik)
  • Setup and monitoring of backups
  • Handling of IT tickets (Incident, Change, Problem)
  • Error analysis and resolution of IT disruptions
  • Documentation of all activities in the system

Your profile

  • Completed technical vocational training and/or retraining
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the IT field in a comparable position
  • Team player
  • Ability to find innovative solutions in complex customer projects
  • Good knowledge in the administration of storage and backup systems
  • Good knowledge in error analysis and troubleshooting
  • Competence in ITIL Foundation
  • Knowledge in Linux/Windows and VMware
  • Good command of German and English, both written and spoken
  • Participation in internal training
